Your departure point for this sightseeing is at the Tourist Information Office, view map. Onboard the coach you will experience a wonderful ride through historical Bergen, visiting the Wharf which is on UNESCO's World Heritage list, the Fish Market, St. Mary Church, the University and many other historical and beautiful locations. The sightseeing continues to Gamlehaugen which is the residence of the Norwegian Royal Family when visiting Bergen. Gamlehaugen was built by the politician and shipping magnate Christian Michelsen in 1900. He demolished the original building, and ordered the construction of a new castle like villa. The new villa was built in a Scottish baronial style castle by the architect Jens Zetlitz Monrad Kielland, who later also draw the Railway Station in Bergen. After the death of Michelsen the state bought the property.
Leaving Gamlehaugen we return to the centre of Bergen, where the sightseeing ends.
